Pradelli’s work is distinguished by small touches that carry veiled images. A graceful admiring play of hues, establishes indefinite “landscapes”, with almost enchanted atmosphere and their fullness of colours.

What did Dannie Praed do, she simply tuned in with the man, but not the good looking man, the rich man, the man who opens the door to find a room of 200 square meters, she has tuned in with the man who has not these particular lucidity but just the opposite who has difficulty.
I fell in love immediately with this work, for a simple reason, this picture reminds me of some old Venetian houses full of humor, full of warmth, full of a happiness song, when you had the chance to simply make polenta in a copper pot, especially for those who are my age, to iron with iron that had charcoal slack and saw when I was a boy.
And this is what should give the emotion, seeing the photograph of the grandparents, the mother and father, today this world is disappearing, that they want us to believe it no longer belong to us, in reality is a world that we should find again, a world that to ensure that there are no homeless people who sleep on park benches, we should revisit.
In the way, as did the painter through her paintings, through this work that I think is wonderfully simple and beautiful.
So you see this artist with an higher intelligence has represented two worlds that have disappeared and reappeared.
But she was not just pleased to tell the world of the homeless and of a house that no longer exists she told us of the happiness and attention with which the child is eating ice cream sitting on the shoreline with the sea that washes the feet and here we are a crucial moment of human life.
The beauty of this outline, however, a beautiful watercolor done in an exceptional way, the child is not interested, he is interested in eating ice cream, you see these are the things that an artist must be able to perceive.
It’s important behind these paintings there is something, as it should be for everyone else, there is something not simply a facade of colors and drawings.
Here we found someone who told us stories, detailed stories that have aroused in us emotions, which have brought us only for a moment into another world and I personally give my thanks for this because she opened a dream, she opened a memory and we were transported for a split of the present time, that runs very fast, back in time when we were kids, that perhaps everything seemed fine, but in reality compared to today’s world, I must say it was really more beautiful of what might look through these pictures.

Your works fit into the figurative style which investigates the dark side, leaving the mind to work out shapes to find respite in the narrow spaces of the soul. Thus generating faces, landscapes, nature and bodies nourished by sad colours, that dig into the unconscious released from the existing burden.
An artistic culture that looks far ahead (north Europe) full of pathos and philosophy, finding its autonomous course in the image structuring, and freeing itself from the superfluous in the metaphysical sequences of the paintings.

Art work that gives a deep, dark surreal space from which come into view sheathed red characters, included the suitcase and the book. Silent figures even when talking, because they will surely whisper, it’s suggested by the atmosphere and huge architecture, but in the decline of a well defined space, with established and stiff rules. The work leads to reflection and pause to understand the unsettling artist’s message, she is able to persuade the viewer to wonder and halt with her characters.

The artist is not inspired by a trigger element, creates by impulse, driven by the will to lay the colours on the support, listening to her inner self: in this way are born realities and identities always different, full of senses and meanings that go beyond the mere visible portrayal. Various themes always different are expressed with women and spaces that embrace them; a continuous evolving art, that tries out new processes without pause. An art that becomes relief, freedom, because each support is the bottom of an inner universe full of memories, sensations, images, where to release all that is within. Dannie Praed’s art is an outcome of pictures, journeys, memories, emotions, without restraints or restrictions, continually set on research, always different, always perfectionist.

The dreaming interpretation of life characterize the paintings by Dannie Praed. A ray of light, a vital breath, a fast stroke: these are the guiding elements of an artist who looks at the world through the eyes of a child, but conveys it with the sensitivity of the woman. To see “Appearance” by Dannie Praed and be enlightened by a distant memory has been all one: on one hand a landscape of unusual intensity; on the other, the wandering of the soul in front of the horizon and at the passing of the seasons. You could say that beyond the surface painted by Praed there are these verses of “The Flowers of Evil” by Charles Baudelaire: “I’ll see the springs, summers, autumns, / and when the winter will come and its tedious snows, / then closed the curtains and the shutters shut, / I’ll build into the night my enchanted palaces”
I remembered more colourful paintings and ironic images, often even caustic; I find an admirable skill of the little touches, of the extent, of the contained backgrounds in a wasteland overlooking on the solitude of not said ghosts.

The palette is determined and incisive, twisted by hot and cold colours blended harmoniously in synergistic fusion, to a bright texture, which emphasizes and revitalizes every detail. The coloured rainbow gives dynamism and fluid movement and reflects the extrovert, solar personality of this skillful interpreter of contemporary art. The creativity and sensitivity joined together, buy a fundamental valence for the excellent pictorial yield. It’s an analytical study that using different techniques is linked to the major issues that concern the protection of nature and the planet system. Dannie Praed pursues the essentiality of her own painting, together with the immediacy of the expressive flow, lively and free of redundant and artificial constructions. She  accomplishes an informal figurative, easily recognizable in the very dynamic individual style. What, is striking in her painting is the sense of ” solar positive hope ” tenaciously supported, which wraps the entire narrative scenario. Art is for her an homage to life, at the meaning of existence, that in its complexity is a wonderful gift. Dannie manages to combine tradition and innovation, remaining in the thin line between reality and fantasy, with a pinch of invention and of spirit of irony. Hers is a painting made with enthusiastic momentum, spirited, which nourishes pleasant sensations to the observer. In addition to the aesthetic side, are present interesting interpretive reading keys, full of underlying meanings, as if the artist wanted to impress in the paintings a virtual, autobiographic ‘’logbook’’, in which she collected existential messages, arranged according a sequence in code, that the viewer’s sensitivity must be able to understand and assimilate, with introspective involvement.

Creativity is a text in verses written by Daniela Pradelli aka Dannie Praed, and reading it, I could well understand which is the strength that animates her artistic work, her feel through painting and the giving back emotions in painting shapes. Self taught artist from Modena and with a much vast curriculum, arrives in Bologna on occasion of the XXII International group exhibition of Painting, Sculpture and Photography Arte a Palazzo – ’Dialogue with the Masters of the Twentieth century, with the work Birthday Girl, a 2012 oil on canvas The precisely photographic cut, the naive sign that has translated into a true fil rouge of its parable, are able to return to the viewer free works and of great impact, whose underlying energy, the filiation of the inner dynamics of the same artist, can emerge with simplicity and sophistication. The need and the necessity to express emotions and suggestions that underlay the well-known, the knowledge, it proves what drives Dannie Praed to paint, to push ever further, as she affirms in the words quoted above. These are values that from the soul, from feeling the world through a pure sensibility, devoid of harnesses, can take shaping, show on the canvas, giving face to a series of characters that she portrays or to landscapes that become deep inner views. The poem that Dannie Praed writes but that in reality paints, is filled with pathos, looking at Birthday Girl, one can read it between the lines of the title, from the musical score conveyed in the representation, but above all in the faces of the two protagonists girls who express an immense joy of living, as if that birthday was a real and one’s own extraordinary moment and not just a day to celebrate; is to grow, to embark on life and everything, thanks to the artist, it helps that this happens according to the plots woven by the emotions.

Dannie Praed is a producer of a wrap-around painting: stories of a simple world, imbued stories of almost childish beauty Something to which belong to, from which let to be defined. Being in the space of the canvas. Interesting the use of colours, in some by naive artist. The works reflect  real life experiences, emotional interpretations of the painter and describe paths, passages or fragments of her autobiographical tale. The threshold between reality and fiction is very subtle, what appears is the interior kingdom of the artist.

The will to tell a story is one of the main knots around which is carried out the activity of pictorial research of the artist Dannie Praed, aka Daniela Pradelli. The narration is fruit of stories that come from daily life, from a definitely real universe, but also the opposite, where, however, what has the strength is the emotional value that can then become an image to paint, draw, and convey beyond the personal space.
Such dynamism, obviously, leads to a dualism that brings with it the knowledge of a story and its image translation, which takes place according to instances that refer to photographic genre, covering itself, yet, of a typical energy of a pictorialism basically naïve, as I said a few months ago.
It is with this soul that Dannie Praed returns to Bologna, on the occasion of the XVIII International Exhibition of Painting, Sculpture and Photography with the work ’’Ice Cream Kid’’, a watercolor of 2003, with which the artist competes to the 3rd International Prize Farini Concept Gallery
As it happened with the work presented in the exhibition of last April, the Emilian artist chooses the shape of the portrait in action, that is, the one in which the subject is not on pose but performs another action, almost as if it were a stolen image, an instant that the painter has captured and crystallized through the artistic medium. Subject of this work is an adorable little boy who, on a beach, is focused to enjoy his own ice cream, absorbed in his purpose, disinterested in what surrounds him – the sea, the beach, even the toy boat that lies at his feet.
The simplicity with which Dannie Praed has dealt with this figuration becomes a symbol of the genuine will to share emotions, such as the lovingly watching the innate tenderness of an instant like that one depicted. The sign of the watercolor, which becomes more blurred on the second level to refine on the portrait of the small protagonist, lets out to emerge the maieutic (Socratic) plan but also the one that has determined the choice, as well as, in the same way, are able to emerge those that are the levels of reading and interpretation played on the thread of the emotions, both those that have seen the birth of the work and that of those who, today, reads the image and history.
Starting from the fact that now, that child will be a teenager and his days on the beach will certainly be different; here, however, so when, in the same way as photographs, a work of this kind puts a value also psychological, tied to the dimension of the memory, capable of embodying through the colour and every of its nuances, something that will stay crystallized in time, retrieving. every time, a unique and far moment, but dear.
The valence of the sensitive and exciting depth, leads  Dannie Praed to work according to a research that attests to a type of observation and analysis of the real that does not disregard the affections and the inner perceptions. Just as her landscapes are clear visions of the soul, at the same time, also the portraits which they resort to figurative realism, are however animated by a lyricism that refers to the sphere of sentiment, of the historical and perceptual memory and move in the direction of memory and its preservation. What she brings in substance is a look composed of a personal image,  extraordinarily poetic, rather than a retinal recording. It is a glimpse onto life, on the preciousness of daily instants, those that, all too often, are left to go without being viewed and that disappear in the fast flow of days and years.
The contribution that a painting like ‘’Ice Cream Kid’’ reveals is a sort of transmission of suggestion that, though rooted in a singular and personal moment, can, through art, become universal.

Daniela Pradelli  aka Dannie Praed, astonishes with the strong contrast present in her works. If on one hand the tranquility and docility of a feminine embrace reign, that is reflected in the planets of the blue sky, on the other hand the male manhood and the impetuosity of the movement that spill all around, uniting sky and earth (of a blood red) in a centripetal motion. The stability of family affections, of the nest, becomes disrupted by an unpredictable force: life. Yet the naïve enchantment of the scene soften the violence of the message, bringing the attention to the center, just where the chaotic dispersion finds its form.

When an artist like Dannie Praed pays tribute to me with Salvo Nugnes – Spoleto Arte LP.  I cannot but be flattered. And the reason lies not only in the precious portrait, but also in the juxtaposition of two artistic languages that have always been the bearers of emotions and beauty: music and painting. The art, of which I am a proud promoter, is in fact able to cheer and accompany our life, relieving itself from everyday life, going beyond, remaining faithful to itself. For this I appreciate even more this long playing, taking it as a wish to the trade to which I dedicate myself with passion. A toast to art!

The  portrait of a woman in a summer outfit with the sea horizon line in the background reveals the most creative side of Dannie Praed. The dreamy atmosphere that surrounds Benedetta stands out in particular the expression of the face, so much so that we expect to hear the lady speak. The look expresses more than a thousand words, as well as the wrinkles of the face and the crease of the mouth. Finally, the choice of colors helps to make the subject’s gaze stand out more.

In the brief biography that the artist Dannie Praed gives of herself and that with pleasure I chose to share with the reader and the audience of I International Event Berlin of Farini Concept Gallery at the Lacke&Farben Galerie, is enclosed the essence of the interpretative key of the artist’s research, that lyrical breath emerging from the unconscious dimension that reveals the intuition and the epiphanies underlying the paintings, the portraits that act as subjects of broad narrative, of the observation of the daily: a pictorial and emotional images story that draws inspiration from the sensitive dialogue with the other from oneself. Iris Violin Notes from 2016,is the painting presented in Berlin and shows a very intense close up of a violinist, able to catch the bystander’s attention and to produce a synaesthetic perception of the work and of the captured scene and fixed by the artist. Dannie Praed lingers to investigate realities through internal affection and perceptions, generating exposures that make themselves in visions of the soul, in which feelings, memory and lyricism contribute to the progress in the scene, becoming protagonists together with the subject, in this case the young musician. In the past I wrote that Dannie Praed proposes” a look at life, on the preciousness od daily instants, those which too very often, are allowed to pass without dwelling on them and disappear in the rapid flow of days and years” And in front of the painting Iris Violin Notes find us expected and welcomed in a unusual emotional flow, whose gradient is a mixture of image and also of music that we perceive ,even without hearing it. An immersive artwork that denotes how much Dannie Praed’s visual poetry is a source of refined budding.

Through the words of Elena Gollini, (see Wednesday 4 August 2016 – Rio Art – Olympics of the Art) that the artist Dannie Praed has made her own to consider them a true biographical note, I welcome in the catalogue the work The Eerie Lady, a painting immediately attributable to the artist’s signature and made in 2018.
The emblematic title is proposed as an interpretative guiding thread that, from word to image, reveals itself as the inspiring maieutic. The painter, who happily returns to Palazzo Fantuzzi for the XXIX Group Exhibition of Arte a Palazzo, a collateral event to Art Fair, with this ‘mystery’ portrait offers the audience  a silent epiphany, an intense close-up which, however, does not open a dialogue with the usable space, it remains distant, detached; the Lady’s gaze turns towards  an unknown elsewhere to us, such as to stand over us- As always, the pictorial research of Dannie Praed descends into the folds of the soul, scrutinizes the human feeling, investigates emotions and perceptions that emerge in the paintings, through the complexity of a language entrusted to the composition and the colours in order to build a solid narrative structure but with a lyrical charm, capable of capturing the eye of the observer, in an enigmatic way.
The Eerie Lady confirms,  the stylistic code of Dannie Praed, not already and not only from a technical point of view, but, rather, according to what are the prodromes of a language that is a perfect pictorial translation of a deep feeling, of a narration that assigns its own saying to the feeling. Portraits, like The Eerie Lady generate a message of emotions, bring the viewer into a limbo where questions, doubts and spells flow relentlessly, in immanent harmony

Artist Dannie Praed creates a work of sublime refinement. The dancer’s gaze penetrates the work with meaning, recalling the prouder and more instinctive gaze of the tiger, the two symbolic energies recalling and enhancing each other. The figures are presented with meticulousness and attention to detail, which does credit to the artist’s established technique. She succeeds in recreating a profound suggestion in her subject, that speaks straight to the heart of the observer. Vagueness and lightness, as well as a sumptuous elegance, are well rendered and enhanced in the painting, which shows itself in its bold and fascinating character.
